Al-Futtaim was born in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She studied Art for G.C.S.E. and A-Level at the Latifa Put. School for Girls in Dubai, achieving top grades in this subject. Al-Futtaim is a member of: The Dubai International Art Centre; Emirates Fine Arts Society, Sharjah, U.A.E.; The Arabian Leapord Trust; and The Women's Art Library, London, England. She has designed products for The Arabian Leapord Trust. Al-Futtaim's projects include a mural for the Dubai Chamber of Commerce Building, an exhibition of paintings and sculpture at the Dubai World Trade Centre, and other exhibitions overseas.
In 1999, Al-Futtaim was selected to represent the United Arab Emirates in the Global Women Project Exhibition to be held at White Columns, Manhattan, New York in June 2000. Her first solo exhibition is also being held in 1999.
Her selected exhibitions include: The Feminine Touch Exhibition, Dubai Women's College, 1996; The 16th Emirates Fine Arts Society Member Exhibition, Dubai, 1996; Scenes from the Arab World, Eurofinanciere d'Investissements, Monte Carlo, Monaco, 1996; Painted Mural, the Dubai Shopping Festival, as part of the Tebra Art Group Project, Dubai, U.A.E., 1996; Winter Exhibition, Dubai International Art Centre (D.I.A.C.), Dubai, U.A.E., 1995 and '96; and Photography Extravaganza, D.I.A.C., Dubai, U.A.E., 1995.
