Born in Beirut, Lebanon, Alammuddin received her first Bachelor's degree in fine arts from Mills College in California in 1981 and her second in illustration from the San Francisco Academy of Art in 1984. Alamuddin has recently become an active participant in group exhibitions. She lives and works in London and Beirut.

Her solo exhibition locations include Christ's Education Gallery, London and Smith's Gallery, London.
