In Boehm's painting, black ink and watercolor are used on rice paper or silk, to depict the traditional subjects of Chinese Brush Painting: landscape, bird, flower.
Since 1990 she has taught Chinese Brush Painting at the Milwaukee Area Technical College, has had numerous exhibitions, and has artwork at the Cynthia Tilson Gallery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Presently, Boehm is a member of the American Artists of Chinese Brush Painters, Wisconsin Women in the Arts, West Bend Art Museum and the Oriental Watercolor Society of Wisconsin, with artwork on file at The National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC.
