Rachel Parry Boydell was born in Cambridge, England and is the daughter of painter, Lesley Ann Parry. Since 1979 she has lived in Allihies, Ireland with ceramic artist Cormac Boydell and their daughter, Molly. Her paintings and sculptures have been exhibited in both England and Ireland.

As well as working as a sculptor, primarily using clay, earth, and other natural materials found locally, Rachel Parry Boydell is currently setting up an artist's and writer's Retreat Centre outside Allihies. As an integral part of the project she is inviting sculptors to create and build weather-proof sculptural shelters made from materials indigenous to the site.
