Brechin received her BFA in Visual Art Studies from the University of Texas, Austin. She also has a diploma in Commercial Art from York Academy of Arts in Pennsylvania. Brechin was Featured Artist in Avaanti, The Journal of the Austin Visual Arts Association in 1996.
Working with disparate elements, Brechin harmonizes them. Her process is one of discovery and evolution. She puts together man-made, natural, and personal imagery to create something new. Brechin states, "I enjoy the way that images as symbols have multiple meanings...everyone brings something different to his/her interpretation."
