BuAli was born in Alhasa, Saudi Arabia. She received her B.A. in Fine Arts from Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She also holds a B.S. in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Arizona, Tucson. A full time artist, working mainly in oil painting, printmaking, and sculpture, BuAli currently teaches art to young girls and women at her own studio in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. She lectures on the creative art of young Saudi girls, art, and art history. She also contributes articles on art to local newspapers. She continues to expand upon her art training by taking workshops such as Photoetching at London Print Studio, London, 2003; Etching at Bahrain Art Society, State of Bahrain, 1999; Functional Ceramics and Wheel Throwing course at the Visual Art Center, Montreal, Quebec, 1990; and Terra Cotta Sculpture at the Tucson Museum of Art, Tucson, 1989. Her work is found in private collections in Saudi Arabia, United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines. BuAli is a member of the Bahrain Art Society.
