Cain received her BA in Studio Art from Arizona State University, Tempe, and her AS in Fashion Merchandising from Endicott College, Beverly, Massachusetts. She has a great love for watercolor, but also works in other media such as screen printed textiles, to create a colorful, gestural collage. Being a freelance desktop designer and computer person has influenced her artwork.
In 1994, Cain won several awards for her work: First Place Award, Foothills Art Show, Phoenix, AZ; Third Place Award, South Mountain Festival of the Arts, The Point Resort, Phoenix; and Fourth Place Award, Casa Grande Art Museum, Casa Grande, AZ.
