Connolly received a BFA in Graphic Design from the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC and has taken various classes in furniture making, ceramics, and photography in the DC area.
In 1988 she published her own book containing her photography along with others entitled, Banned in DC, a photo essay of the DC punk music scene; over 10,000 copies have been sold. Her photographs have been printed on innumerable compact discs, records, and cassettes, in Gargoyle literary magazine, as the cover of the Gargoyle literary cassette, in Greed magazine, Speed Kills zine, Flipside fanzine, The Washington Times, and The Washington City Paper.
Her selected exhibitions include: Long Beach Cafe, Chicago, 1996: White Columns Gallery, New York, 1996; Melbourne and Sydney Australia shows in conjunction with a music festival, 1995; Fuel Cafe, Milwaukee, 1995-96; Washington Center for Photography, Washington, DC, 1995; Washington Project for the Arts, Washington, DC, 1995; Blackout Books, New York, 1995; Go! Cd, Arlington, Virginia, 1994-95; and The Fairy Grotto, Sydney, Australia, 1995.
