Deschamps received her BA in Arts and Philosophy from the University of Ottawa, Canada and her MA in Art History from the University of Quebec at Montreal, Canada. She also holds a diploma in 3D Computer Animation from Sheridan College. Deschamps has taught art and film theory and studio courses at l'Ecole multidiscipinaire de l'image at  Université du Québec en Outaouais, at the University of Regina, Saskatchewan and at the Ottawa School of Art.
