Dickinson, Professor of Art at California College of Arts and Crafts since 1971, is a figurative artist whose emotional works in media from video to ten foot high pastels on black velvet are exhibited widely.

Her works portray religious states in which the extremes of media duplicate the extremes of emotion in the subjects.
