The birth of her first son, five years ago, spurred a rebirth in her creative self; Drosendahl began painting again after a fifteen year hiatus.

She studied art at Scottsdale Community College, Scottsdale, Arizona, and Arizona State University, taking drawing, fiber arts, and all the basic courses-- no painting though, until later.

For Drosendahl, painting is her second language-- expressing the richness, depth, and excitement that she believes is there to be reached for.
