"Pandora's Box" is number five in Fleming's Star Series. She set up a still-life of stars, grids, and prisms, and photographed it with an automatic camera. Since the camera cannot focus on glass it distorts what it sees. This series is about the distortion. The final works are done on canvas with oil paint stick.

Fleming has a BFA from Concordia University, Montreal. Her selected exhibitions include: One Woman Show, Barbara Silverberg Gallery, Montreal, 1994; Annual Exhibition, Toronto Dominion Bank, 1991-92; and New Design Trends in Quebec, the University of Quebec, 1990.

Sybil Fleming also writes and illustrates children's story books.
