Fruehauf was among other Washington, DC area women photographers to be honored with an invitation from the Chinese Women's Foundation and Chinese Women Photographers Association to exhibit in Beijing in May, 1995.

Photomontage allows her to collect pieces of life to form complete photographic statements about death and renewal, destruction and rebirth.

Fruehauf currently teaches photography at The George Washington University and American University in Washington, DC and for Fairfax County Adult and Community Education in Virginia.
