Fu Ni Ya states, "Houses and flowers are my favorite subjects. Behind the safety and beauty they symbolize, however, is felt a pent-up emotion and seen the fleeting youth. . . On window screens surrounded by flowers, flash images of various matches, matches between an oriental prince and an occidental princess, between a Han emperor and a Tibetan princess, between a western clown and an eastern farm maid, and between my husband and me. . . But one image keeps occurring, though in different forms, as if it were dwelling upon the question: where will life eventually take me?"
