Title: Nature III
Size: 13 1/2" x 17"
Ghosh was born and raised in Santiniketan, India. Woodcuts and Linocuts were the common forms of expression during her school days in Santiniketan. Graphic Art as a whole rich medium unfolded its splendor and magic to her through the works of Somnath Hore from whom she received training during her graduation years in Kala Bhavana. Since then printmaking has been a part of her existence. Growing up in the environs of Santiniketan, Ghosh developed a natural love for nature. Since then she has been trying to capture different frames of the living world through spatial compositions and color. Her current etchings focus on the innate rhythm in nature. Her works are in permanent collections of the National Gallery of Modern Art, Lalit Kala Akademi, ABC Gallery, and private collections in India and abroad. She has also worked as Art Director on a number of films, and executed the sets and puppets for an animation film.
