Noela J. Hjorth was born in Melbourne Australia. She studied Art at Prahran Institute of Technology and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia. From 1968 to '71 she worked in London, England, studied at Chelsea School of Art, and traveled through Europe. In 1972, Hjorth moved back to Australia and established her own studio. In 1976, she established the Victorian Printmakers' Group and Workshop and was elected Vice-President of the Print Council of Australia. She has traveled to Indonesia, India, Thailand, Bali, Northern Australia, Central Australia, New York, and San Francisco. Currently, she lives and works in Clarendon, South Australia.
