Husted's work deals with the interiorising of the outside world. A sense of being there ... feeling the light, colors, and textures of place ... is a central motif in which light, time, and location of objects become metaphors for identity.
She was born in the United Kingdom. She studied in Wales at Cardiff Institute from 1986 to 1990, earning her BA with honors. Since then she has shown her work in five solo exhibitions in the United Kingdom and Australia, plus many group exhibitions, and some collaborative installation works in Canberra, Australia.
Her selected reviews include: Gaer Rhydd, 426, 1992; Uned Gelf / The Art Unit, no. 3, (Wales), 1992; Women's Art Magazine, no. 55, (London), 1993; Second Shift, no. 3, (Cambridge), 1993; The Canberra Times, Feb. 17, 1995; and Muse magazine, no. 147, Nov. 1995.
