Kaur's representation of woman is a personal metaphor, as it chronicles her own growing confidence and freedom. She believes that the quest for identity is an issue integral to our times and finds it crucial to come to terms with today's ambivalent world where pluralism makes conflicting social and psychic demands on us. Through her work, Kaur evolves her aesthetic concepts, strategies, and personal vision while celebrating being female.
Her selected solo exhibitions include: Recent Works, Richies Mill Art Gallery, Launceston, Tasmania, Australia, 1994; and a performance, Avant Garde on the Rocks, The Arts Cross One, University of Tasmania, 1993.
