Klebesadel is a watercolor artist and the Director of the Women's Studies Consortium for the University of Wisconsin System. She also teaches women in the courses on women in the arts for the UW-Madison Women's Studies Program. She is also on the board of the National Women's Studies Association. Previously, she was on the studio art faculty at Lawrence University, Appleton, Wisconsin. Her work addresses feminist themes drawing on myths, folklore, stories, and personal experience. She served as President of the Women's Caucus for Art, the largest interdisciplinary organization of women in the arts in the United States, from 1994 to '96.
