Translate { } Expression explores the interface of technology and human subjectivity including its impact on sexuality and desire. This work calls attention to contemporary technology and how it frames new conceptions of the gendered body.

La Porta is a multimedia artist who works with computer technology to explore issues of gender identity and female subjectivity. She currently teaches multimedia at St. John's University and Parsons School of Design.

La Porta received her MFA from the School of Visual Arts where she worked on the Silicon Graphics workstation to complete her masters thesis. Prior to her studies at SVA she studied photography at Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois.
