Lyahova was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. She received her art education at the National Academy for Fine Arts, Sofia. From 1988 to '90 Lyahova was Art Director at Bulgarian National Television. In 1992, she was Stage Designer for Dialogue Theatre. Currently working freelance, Lyahova combines many media and talents: painting and drawing (waterbased techniques), paper plastics, plastic installations, applied graphics, stage design, and costumes.
