Mahvash was born in Iran. As a young adult she moved to Montreal, Canada, married, and began her family. They traveled between Europe and Africa for years, and it was during this time that she began to experiment with painting. Mahvash's large paintings evolved into playful, brightly colored, multi-patterned depictions of her day dreams about playing house. These warm and familiar scenes of everyday life immediately put the viewer at ease. She now resides in California with her son, her two cats, and her husband.
