Marlowe received her BS from East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina in 1965 and her MFA from the University of Idaho, Moscow, Idaho in 1969. Since then, she has been living and painting in the Albany, New York area. She chooses to work in deep, intense colors and on an intimate scale.
She is Professor of Drawing and Painting in the Department of Visual Arts at Sage College of Albany, The Sage Colleges.
