Maxonová was born in Kosice and graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts in Bratislava, Slovakia. She is one of the best known creators of monumental sculpture to be found throughout Slovakia. Her various materials include: metals, painted wood, ceramics, and artificial matter such as plastics. Maxonová also makes smaller works-- sculptures, drawings, and monotypes.

Her work has been in 32 solo exhibitions in Slovakia, Spain, and Poland; is included in public collections in Washington DC, Paris, London, Prague, Kosice, and Karlsbad; is in private collections in Belgium, Brazil, the United States, France, Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Sweden, Japan, Venezuela, and Poland; and is found in approximately 29 galleries and museums around the world.

Maxonová has participated in over 50 group exhibitions at home and abroad, many of which were in Holland. She has 60 monumental sculptures in architectural public places, ranging in size from 10 meters to 30 x 30 centimeters.
