Doris May is a self-taught fiber and mixed media artist focusing on environmental issues. Using dancers to show her fiber body-sculptures, May's work incorporates installations and performances to create communication between the artist and society.

Her selected group exhibitions include: Les Fameuses, Pratt & Whitney Longueuil, Québec, 1995; Floribunda, Stewart Hall, Point Claire, Québec, 1994; Adornments for the Poor and the Famous, Visual Arts Center, Québec; and Red Thread Over China, the People's Republic of China.
