Moushanova was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. She received her MFA from the Academy of Art, Sofia. Moushanova works as a freelance artist and illustrator in the field of graphic art and book design. She was awarded a grant to attend the International Symposium for Experimental Silk-screen Graphics, Happaranda, Sweden, 1993 and the International Symposium for Experimental Drawing, Lulea, Sweden, 1990. Her work frequently expresses spiritual messages from literary sources such as the Bible, ideas from newer religious trends, and on some philosophical and moral categories, as point of departure for the graphic composition.

Solo exhibitions of her graphics and drawings have been shown in: Madrid, Spain, 1997; Ulft, Holland, 1994; and Sofia, Bulgaria, 1992.
