Orenstein is an ecofeminist Professor of Comparative Literature and Arts at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. She specializes in surrealism, the re-emergence of the Goddess, and Shamanism. She is the author of The Reflowering of the Goddess and co-editor of Reweaving the World: The Emergence of Ecofeminism. She is also the author of Multi-Cultural Celebrations: The Paintings of Betty LaDuke, 1972-1992 and The Theater of the Marvelous and Surrealism and the Contemporary Stage.
