The Selective Eye series of pastel paintings and related photographs uses cultural objects, Mexican masks, carved wooden animals, papier mâché figures, and children's toys, in a lively blend of reality and fantasy.

For approximately two to three months, layers of soft pastels are painstakingly applied to an acid-free sand paper, achieving rich textures and vibrant colors.

Rachko, who was raised in a New York suburb, has received dozens of awards for her work and has been featured in Artist's Magazine.
