The imagery in Ricklin's work is inspired by personal experience and is always narrative, frequently emotional, and tinged with humor and irreverence whenever possible.

Her prints, photographs, and paintings have been exhibited in galleries and museums across the country and are in numerous collections.

Ricklin enjoys teaching and sharing her love of art. As such, for the past 25 years she has taught and lectured at many schools, museums, galleries, and institutions.
