Salim received her Bachelor of Fine Art degree from the College of Fine & Applied Art, Sudan University for Science & Technology, Khartoum, Sudan, 1998. In 2001 she received a Diploma/Folklore from the Institute for African and Asian Studies, Khartoum. Salim is a textile designer. A Women's Creativity Award was granted to her by the "Friendship Hall," Kartoum, 1999. She has organized workshops for children's artwork at the "College of Fine and Applied Art," in El Dmazin and El Rosiris, also for "The National Band for Traditional Musical Instruments." Salim is also a cofounder of the "Sudan Women Artists Association."
Her selected solo exhibtions include: Joint exhibiton with Nagat Elmahi and Meridian Hotel, Khartoum, Sudan, 1999; and "College of fine and Applied Art," Khartoum, 1996.
