Slobodoff was born in Saint Petersburg (Leningrad), Russia. She studied Sculpture at the Serov's Institute of Arts and the Academy of Arts, both in Leningrad. She taught sculpture and plastic anatomy at the Chaboksary University in Chuvashia, Russia. She has been a member of the Union of Artists of Russia since 1971. Slobodoff works with biblical themes in sculpture and painting. In 1992, she moved to New York.

In 1988, she had a solo exhibition in St. Petersburg with more than 50 pieces of art: sculptures carved from stone, wood, in bronze, terracotta; drawings, and paintings. Exhibition notices were in newspapers and on television, and a catalog was published.

Slobodoff has participated in many annual and group exhibitions including: The Second International Biennial of Metal Art, Budapest, Hungary, 1976; and exhibitions of artists of St. Petersburg in Bulgaria and Yugoslavia, 1989-'90. Some of her art is the property of the Russian government and private collections. Her works are on display at: The Museum of the History of St. Petersburg, the City Sculpture Museum of St. Petersburg, the Museum of City of Kaluga, the Museum of City of Zavolzshsk, and the Directorate of Exhibitions of St. Petersburg.
