Stecker received a Commercial Art degree from Milwaukee Area Technical College and a Fine Arts degree from Platteville University. After a 20 year combined background in Commercial and Fine Art she opened her own private studio, DRAGONhart, in 1993.

Using galvanized steel wire as her main medium due to the challenge it offers, Stecker creates hand-wrapped, original sculptures. After a sculpture has been wrapped, it is finished with multiple layers of Sculp-Metal: a newly developed aluminum compound which is environmentally durable.

Stecker is a member of Wisconsin Painters and Sculptors / Wisconsin Artist in All Media and her work may be viewed at Jewelry Design Ltd. in Plymouth, Wisconsin and Albers Art Glass and Gallery in Kiel, Wisconsin.
