Torres is a self-taught painter registered with the Biographic Archive of the National Museum of Fine Arts, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

She has exhibited her paintings widely in galleries and museums with over 14 solo exhibitions, 80 group shows, 130 national, and 10 international exhibitions.

Her works have won numerous awards including Gold Medal, Silver, Bronze, and Honorable Mention. Since 1990, Torres has been very actively participating in Mail Art.
