Toruño's mediums are painting, photography, and silkscreen. In her artwork she mainly focuses on social issues. She believes that artwork is not confined to gallery walls. Since 1985 she has worked at Two Brothers Custom Silkscreen doing artwork, camera work, paste-up, and other pre-press work.
