Ujiie received a BFA in Fine Art and Japanese Painting from Kyoto Seika University and a diploma in Textile Design from Kyoto Dyeing Laboratory, Japan.
She has been Architect / Designer (interior and exterior design planning) for Takamatsu Construction Company, Osaka, and is currently Kimono Designer for Minoru Ujiie Design Studio, Kyoto.
Her selected group exhibitions include: Sokokai Competition, Kyoto Culture Museum, Japan, 1994; Nikkokai Competition, Takashimaya Museum, Yokohama, Japan, 1994; and Kyoto Art Competition, Kyoto Municipal Museum, Japan, 1993.
