Vamvakou's work in colored wood pannels or stylae is a form of free standing, two sided relief portraying the blessings of simple everyday commitments.

She received her BFA in Sculpture from Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri. Her exhibition record includes over 17 solo exhibitions in Greece and Paris and over 40 group exhibitions in Greece and Europe. She is a member of the Greek Section of F.I.C.F.

Vamvakou has received prizes and honors including: 1st and 2nd Prize at the Openair Show, Chautauqua, New York; Hazel Goetch Missouri Foundation of Women's Clubs Award; College Rotery Fellowship, District 196; and Golden Medal, Arrezo, Italy.
