Medium: Ink and wash painting
Wang was born of Han nationality in Shanghai, China. He graduated from the Painting Department of Fujian Fine Arts School and from the History Department of Fujian Normal University. Now Dean of Fuzhou Fine Arts School, Wang is also serving as a deputy-president and executive director of Fujian Provincial Fine Arts Society and is a member of China Artists Association, Fujian Division. He particularly engages in the study and creation of both traditional and modern arts, using the various media of lacquer painting, papercut, and ink-and-wash painting.
His work has been published in Selection of Modern Chinese and Japanese Lacquer Arts, Fujian Fine Arts, Selected Works of Wang Tianliang's Lacquer Paintings, Modern Ink and Wash by Wang Tianliang and The Achievements of Chinese Artists from Around the World.
His selected exhibitions include: Solo Exhibition, Chinese Art Gallery, Beijing, 1996; '95 Traditional Artistic Exchange Conference, Taipei Cultural Center, 1995; Sino- Japan Lacquer Arts Exhibition, Japan, 1991-'92; International Exhibition of Tourist Arts, 1989; Solo Exhibition, Fuzhou Fine Arts Gallery, 1982; and lacquer paintings exhibited, Singapore, 1980.
