Wolf-Rottkay was born in Greifswald, Germany, and has lived in Munich, Germany and Salamanca, Spain. She attended the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich and the Art Academy, Munich. Since moving to California in 1966, she has continued her work and study in painting and serigraphy.
Wolf-Rottkay's work reflects her agony at seeing a fragile Earth transformed by uncaring mankind and the altered landscape is testimony to that. Her paintings and screenprints are "mindscapes" or "visionary dreamscapes" that use landscape as metaphor to reveal humanity's tension and harmony with nature.
