Ziyeh studied at Tehran University, School of Fine Arts, Iran. She received her BFA in Painting and Photography from York College of CUNY, and her Master of Industrial Design from Pratt Institute, New York.

In 1984, Ziyeh was Exhibit Designer at Etan Manasse Associates, New York City. In 1985, she was Assistant Capital Construction Manager at the Brooklyn Museum, New York, where she created scale drawings of the entire museum. From 1988 to 1989, she conducted workshops in watercolor, drawing, and color theory at Central Queens YMCA, New York. From 1986 to 1992, Ziyeh was Director of 6 and Beyond, Forest Hills, New York, an "Urban Accessories" gallery and cafe. In 1994, she conducted art workshops in public schools for Carnegie Hall's Link Up Program, New York examining environmental influences on the fine arts. Currently, she is a Freelance Design Consultant, providing design services for commercial and residential environments since 1987, and conducts workshops at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York since 1988.
